When I came to the Boot Camp I had a lot of anger, bitterness, resentment, and hate inside of me over things from my past. By the time I left I felt like a thousand ton weight had been lifted off of me and I felt so much peace inside of me something I hadn’t felt in years. Before this boot camp I had a broken 8-track in my head that constantly played self-doubt, fear, regret and negative thoughts. I attended the Bootcamp as both an attendee and a trainer and I enjoyed them both equally. In the mornings I was a trainer for the couples and I learned a really good lesson and it was to give God time to work the couples through the process before intervening. It was so refreshing to see both spouses willing to work through the rough places and leave free from some of the baggage they arrived with. They departed FREE!!! Another thing I took away was, things I learned about myself I didn’t realize I was communicating in my former marriage and being able to be open to discover those things and ask my ex-husband to forgive me for the areas where I was weak and unsuccessful at making the marriage work.

In the evenings I participated as an attendee and it was awesome because I discovered how committed I am to my purpose of helping my children and others, to be successful in relationships and life. I discovered that I was competitive in relationships with the opposite sex and why. Growing up men dominated women in my circle of influence and I made a vow that I wouldn’t let it happen to me, so instead of forgiving them and allowing God to heal my heart and protect me…I protected myself and never really let my former husband to be as intimate with me as I should have.

This was the second most important thing I have ever done in my life.

I have spent a large part of my adult life trying to heal the pain that has at times has been paralyzing and has not allowed to me to emotionally mature in some areas. I have tried counseling and psychiatry. I did 2 things this weekend that have changed my life. I verified that the boundaries I set with my mother and the forgiveness I gave her prior to the boot camp have released the chains in that area of my life. I also forgave myself. I have written volumes of journals that are actually my conversations with God as well as prayer and studying scripture. Those are all necessary but the boot camp gave me the tools that brought it all together for me.

I have periods in my life where my heart was wide open and my relationship with Christ was tight. I had surrendered my will to His and those were the only periods I experience TRUE peace and joy. However, even during those periods I was unable to totally forgive myself. The Holy Spirit was using me to do the Lord’s work. I slowly allowed a wedge to be driven in that relationship and couldn?t find the way back. The boot camp reminded me that I am at my strongest when I am at my weakest.
